Mr. Bee upgrades the hive with USDA funding

The plant is buzzing with excitement over our latest opportunity! We’ve received $250,000 from the United States Department of Agriculture Rural Development for renovations and energy-saving equipment.

So how are we going to keep the chips you know and love coming in even faster? We’re financing a new warehouse, water recycler, fryer, potato washer, lighting, and more. Our energy savings results in 43,527 kWh a year, which is enough electricity to power nearly two homes!

This savings adds up to more than $31,000 a year, which is a great way to help us keep a bag of our chips on your table. These improvements also help us welcome more expert chip makers to the Mister Bee family.

We’re incredibly grateful to the USDA and its investment in West Virginia small business and agriculture. We can’t wait to see our family-favorite snacks reach more shelves and doorsteps!
